How much does Decking Cost UK?

The cost of decking depends on your budget and the type of decking you require. There are three main categories for decking, which are budget, medium and premium timber decking. At M D Fencing and Decking our prices are highly competitive, and we will happily give you a free quote.

What is Composite Decking?

Composite decking is a man-made building product made up of a mix of plastics, wood fibres and a small number of bonding agents. The plastic content means the decking boards are more durable and resistant to damp, rot and insects.

How much decking do I need?

Firstly you need to decide how much of your garden you want to have decked. Don't worry about trying to calculate the amount of decking you require, here at M D Fencing and Decking we will work all that out for you.

How do I Install Decking on my Lawn?

If you want to lay your decking onto the ground, you will need to layer the area with some weed control fabric. It would be best if you put between 40 mm and 50 mm of gravel on top of the weed control fabric. Another method is to create some concrete pads so your decking will sit on top. It will reduce moisture seeping into the frames and causing any damage.

What do you put Under decking?

Compacting some gravel around the wooden posts will allow for adequate drainage. It will keep water from rotting the wood. It also extends the life of your decking.

Do you need Foundations for Decking?

If you decide to build your decking on a beautiful flat surface, you probably won't have to raise it. However, you will still need to lay down some footings for the decking frame to sit on. The foundations you use can be as simple as some concrete blocks that are bedded onto the sand. You can also use gravel or cement if required.

How do you lay Decking on Uneven Ground?

If the ground where you want to put your decking is uneven, you can level the ground. If you don't feel that you have the correct tools or know-how, give M D Fencing and Decking a call for a free quote, they have many years of experience and can lay your decking without any hassle for yourself.
